Union Chain Bridge
Currently under going major renovation. A 2 year project to strengthen the bridge to allow the weight of vehicles to drive over.
The oldest surviving iron suspension bridge in Europe and the first of its kind designed for vehicles.
With beautiful riverside walks from the bridge upriver towards Horncliffe & Norham and downstream to Paxton House & Berwick.
